Eliza Dushku leaves Hollywood to become a psychedelic therapist
This actress from Buffy the Vampire Slayer just traded Hollywood for healing minds. Eliza Dushku, who played Faith in the hit series, just graduated with a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Lesley University at age 44. After nearly a decade of personal growth, Dushku is leaving acting behind to pursue psychedelic-assisted therapy.
Her career shift wasn't random - after experiencing sexual trauma at just 12 years old on a movie set, she found healing through psychedelic therapy herself. Now, alongside her husband Peter Palandjian, she's funding research into psychedelic treatments while raising their two young sons. "This is absolutely so clearly my real calling, my real purpose," she shared. From fighting fictional demons on screen to helping people battle real ones in therapy sessions, Dushku calls this transformation "a deep calling realized." Her graduation cap might as well have read: Faith found a new mission.
